Coaching and lecturing at Luxembourg University

Recently we have been on our annual journey to Luxembourg University. Inger has been coaching several moot court teams in the law faculty, as part of the workshop “Oral advocacy in mooting”. The workshop is part of the exclusive training for six teams participating in international moot court competitions, such the European Law Moot Court Competition (ELMC), René Cassin, Jessup and the International Criminal Court (ICC MCC). This year Luxembourg University made an introductory training for all moot court students (24 in total) followed by individual training for each team, where the students could make specific exercises and effectively present their oral submissions. It is an impressive organization and the moot court students experienced once again the stimulating support from professor Susana Munoz.

Dirk has been lecturing in the Masterprogramme Space, Telecom and Media Law, analysing recent case law of the European Court of Human Rights on Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights. The classes focussed on hate speech, protection of journalistic sources, investigative journalism and newsgathering, whistleblowing, access to public documents and freedom of expression in the digital environment. It was a pleasure to be welcomed and work together with professor Mark Cole.
