At the occassion of the 10th anniversary of the human rights blog Strasbourg Observers a blog symposium has been launched. It pays tribute to the five most-read posts on Strasbourg Observers since the creation of the blog in April 2010. The blog symposium started on 10 April with the publication of our blog under the title The Court’s subtle approach of online media platforms’ liability for user-generated content since the ‘Delfi Oracle’. The blog post gives a short overview of the developments in the European Court’s case law determining the scope of liability of internet platforms or other online intermediaries for user-generated content. It also refers to the Recommendation CM/Rec(2018)2 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe on the roles and responsibilities of internet intermediaries (photo).
